Let Google Do the Work!

Google truly is the greatest invention ever! We really take for granted what it can do for our businesses. Did you know that Google is actually a question search engine? So basically you can ask Google to do the work for you. Just ask Google what you need, and it will come back with pages and pages of possible responses. Anything and everything, just ask Google.

Specifically, related to pitching the media, ask Google who writes about your industry topic can find the RIGHT journalist who cover what you are an expert in. “Who write about [industry] for [publication]?” You can also search Google on articles related to your industry and see who is covering it. Put your topic in and click on the articles and see who is writing about it.

Ask Google what’s trending related to your industry/topic so you can see what people are talking about and insert yourself in the conversation. Pitch that story with you as the expert to the media. That’s making yourself newsworthy on topics that are trending and what people are talking about NOW.

Remember the Get Famous Formula – you want to be newsworthy, you need a great hook so the journalist actually reads your pitch, and then you need to make sure you have the journalist. That’s my proven formula that works repeatedly. Watch this video I did on it to make sure you understand how it works.

This Week’s PR Tip


Hi everybody. It’s Christina Daves with this week’s Free Publicity Friday PR Tip. This week I want to share with you one of my favorite resources ever, and that’s Google. Google is a question search engine. Ask Google to do the work for you. Ask Google who writes about your industry topic for a certain media outlet. Ask Google about what’s trending related to your topic. Put your topic in and click on “news” and see what people are talking about. That way you can insert yourself into the conversation and then you can pitch the media that way. So Google is really my number one resource for so much of the work that I do. And once you start practicing and playing with it, you’re going to see how really easy it is.
