Now is the best time to pitch the media, especially television. August is the slowest news time as so many people are traveling and don’t want to forego their vacation for a media appearance. Pitches are much lower this time of year so it’s a great opportunity for you to start pitching. Your pitch is much more likely to be seen easily. and read. If you’ve been following me, you know how to write a good pitch that is more likely to get the YES. Follow the Get PR Famous formula to increase your chances.

Think of what you can pitch that is newsworthy, related to your industry and follow the formula and take advantage of the slow news time right now and pitch away.
I always share that I walk the walk and it was in August when I was able to land on Good Morning Washington which has led to years of regular segments on ABC. The system works. August is a great time to pitch if you haven’t yet or haven’t in a while. And… if you are a regular media pitcher, this could be the perfect time for you to get booked!

It is July 15th. We are two weeks away from August. And big bonus, August is the best time to pitch the media. It’s super slow – not a lot of newsworthy things going on. A lot of people on vacation. It’s actually the first time I got on TV and started a regular gig on Good Morning Washington.
And I pitched a lot leading up to it, and they finally put me on in August. So think about… it’s a great time if you’re just starting out, but think about what you can pitch related to your industry that would be interesting to their viewers. And this is really television. I mean, it’s a slow time everywhere, but I’m talking specifically TV.
So see what’s going on in the world, in your industry, how do you make it relatable to that particular audience? If it’s a morning show, your demographic is a lot of stay at home moms,
35 to 45. If you’re more midday, could be more businessy. It really depends where you are too.
I’m in the DC area, and we’re a lot of politics, business. It’s hardcore news. So you’ve got to really find, for me, who had the morning show that I could really resonate with their audience.
