Niching Your Expertise

Do you show up as someone who is an expert in your industry? It’s important to position ourself as an expert in your industry. When someone Googles your industry, are you there? When someone Googles you, what do they see? Do they see interviews, media, articles featuring you as the expert? It’s time to separate from the crowd and be seen as the expert you are. One way to do this is through niching. I know many of you are afraid to niche. You say you can service anyone. But by niching down your services, you attract that ideal client who is looking for exactly what you do. Here’s a short video I did about niching:

It’s difficult to be all things to all people. That’s why a simple strategy of niching is very effective. After that it’s positioning yourself as an industry expert. It’s important to put out regular content, to be featured in the media. Have you authored any articles, papers or books? That instantly elevates your authority.

Social Media and Influence

Does your social media reflect who you are and what you do? Take an assessment of all of your assets and see what is shows. Do you look like an expert in your industry? Remember that you only have a split second to make an impression. This goes for the media but also your potential clients and customers. When they land on you – your website or social media platforms, do you look like an industry rockstar? One fun trick is if you meet someone new at a meeting or a networking event, ask them to check you out and tell you the first thing that comes to mind. I do this regularly when I speak and train and it’s eye opening. There are no hard feelings. It’s only to help you uplevel your game.It works best with someone who doesn’t know you but you can always do it with someone who does and just ask the nto give you their first impression when they land on your site, Google you, or go to your social media platforms.
