It all started in 2010 when I broke my foot the day before I was going to New York City, Fashion Capital of the World. The doctor put me in one of those big, black, awful medical boots. I searched for anything to make it fashionable. The experience motivated me to design fashion accessories to make them look better and I launched CastMedic Designs to help people Heal in Style. This product invention resulted in me being named “Top Inventor” on Steve Harvey’s Emmy® Award winning show. The accessories have also been worn by celebrities including Diana Ross (when she sang for then President Obama) and Carla Hall on The Chew.

After launching CastMedic Designs, I had no budget left for advertising or a PR campaign, so I had to teach myself everything I could about getting free publicity. I read every book and article I could find and scoured the Internet for information. In less than a year, I appeared in over 50 media outlets, including three appearances on the Emmy® Award Winning Steve Harvey Show, appearances on Dr. Oz, and local news affiliates of NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX.
