There is no easier way to build a brand than with social media. Some people are discouraged or stressed by social media but it is a game-changer in terms of access and what you can do to reach a huge audience, quickly. It’s an amazing tool to use to grow your brand. The number one rule is consistency. It is important that your brand is consistent across all of your platforms. If you’ve followed me for any amount of time, you’ll realize that pink is a huge part of my brand. And not just any pink, hot pink. It actually happened accidentally but now I am known as “The PR Lady in Pink.” I actually went to a business black-tie event and wore black and I can’t tell you how many people commented that I wasn’t in pink.
Color is not the only aspect of your brand. A brand is really the feeling you give someone. What do people think of when they hear your name or your company name. When they think of you do they feel warm? trusting? confident? What is the feeling you give people? People relate to me because I walk the walk and actually do what I teach. People feel that if I can do it, they can too. I reflect that in my brand.
Now, I want you to use social media and build out that brand. Make sure your headers are all in alignment with your website. Make sure pictures, colors, fonts, taglines, and messaging are all consistent. A brand has to be consistent to be viable. Use social media to share your message and build your brand.

Hey everyone, it’s Christina Daves with this week’s, Free Publicity Friday PR Tip. This week, I want to talk to you about, how do you build your brand through social media? We’re constantly putting content out there to really help you elevate your visibility and land in the media and really help you with all aspects of media.
So how do you build your brand on social media? Consistency is the key. You really want your messaging, your look, your brand, your feel, how do people feel when they think about you? That’s all your brand and you can really relay that on this amazing platform that we have, called social media. So it’s really important that you’re consistent in what you talk about, how you say it and again, so people get a feel for you. I’m known for my pink, which kind of happened accidentally. But now it’s something I won’t change because everybody knows me as the “PR Lady in Pink.” You could it could be a color, it’s a feel. People tell me they feel I’m relatable. I’ve done all of this, so I walk the walk and people think, “well gosh, if she can do it, I can do it.” And you can do it.
So, check out the other videos that I have on YouTube as well, because everything that’s out there will really help you land in the media, if that’s what you want to do, grow your social media platform, if that’s what you want to do. But it’s all about gaining visibility through media. So that’s this week’s tip. Just check out across the board, just to make sure you’re being consistent in your messaging.
