Pitch the Media and Gain Visibility

One Year Anniversary of COVID shutdown

Yesterday marks the one year anniversary since the world was shut down due to Covid. Did you pitch the media and gain visibility? The opportunities have proven to be endless. Journalists are completely accessible. Many are still working from home so they have more time for you to connect with them. The opportunities on television are tremendous because no one needs you in studio. People I have worked with have been on everything from local newspapers, magazines, and television to national media outlets like the Today Show, Forbes, Entreprenuer, FOX Business TV and more. This can be YOU too!

There is no better way to get massive visibility and authority than by being in the media. I see it time and time again. People love to work with the “famous” person. And here’s the deal, the media needs experts. They are going to use someone, so let’s make sure it’s YOU. If you aren’t comfortable on television, then pick a different medium. You can guest blog. You can provide quotes in newspapers or magazines. I started out by doing podcasts (hidden in my basement) because I was so nervous and that way no one could see me. I would guzzle water between questions and my heart was pounding so hard! Now, I am on television regularly. It evolved. My confidence grew. I followed the system and as I saw it working, I realized the power of PR and what it does for my business!

Go with what you are comfortable with today so you’ll get started. I never want my clients to do anything that makes them uncomfortable. If you start with what resonates with you and you feel, “I can do THAT!” Then do THAT! And just get started. As you start seeing results and the return on your (minimal) time investment, you’ll get more comfortable pitching the media. Many of my clients just start and have been featured over and over again in the media. They see the value and you should too!

Hi everybody. It’s Christina Daves with this week’s Free Publicity Friday PR Tip. Can you believe that this marks a year of Covid? A year since literally the world shut down. And I remember when this happened, I remember thinking, “Who’s going to need me? Who’s gonna need to get in the media?” And I found that it was even more so, because people had to find a way to differentiate. How could they be different from all their competitors? Everybody went online. Getting media has been an incredible way to stand out. We are still pitching Covid stories. There are still things as this evolves, as people are going back to work, different different things, different Industries.

I post you know with these videos, I always give success stories and every week I’ve got somebody else. I could put several of them in there.
