Things are changing on a daily basis and states are starting to reopen. It’s a gradual process and unique everywhere. We are now entering a new PR cycle of what happens after re-opening? What does it mean for your industry in your state? And on a whole, industry-wide? We are certainly facing a new “normal” in every industry and this is your opportunity to land media coverage discussing what that is.
If your state isn’t opening soon, keep an eye out on what’s going on in other states and bring that back to your state when you pitch the media. Would your state experience the same things a state like Georgia is? Would it be different? Why? Stay on the pulse of this and use your expertise on what you think that means for your industry and why.
This is a tremendous opportunity for you to stand out as an expert. We are still newsjacking the coronavirus story (see past blog post about that) but now we have new peripheral stories to pitch around that… reentry after lockdown.
Watch the video above and/or check out the transcript below for this week’s PR tip on pitching the media after reopening.

Hi everybody. It’s Christina Daves with this week’s Free Publicity Friday PR Tip. What I want to talk about, obviously, we’ve got so many crazy things going on in the world with Covid-19, but states are starting to open and now we have so many stories related to re-entry.
What happens in the restaurant industry?
What happens in the banking industry ?
What happens in the insurance industry?
here are so many topics. I want you really to get your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in your industry and specifically locally for you because there’s so much value that you can provide. But now these are going to be all the stories. If you haven’t watched the news jacking one, watch that again because you’ll see, this is that hot trending story and has been for a long time. But now it’s all these peripheral ones. So think about what re-entry means for your industry and how you can position yourself as an expert and pitch away.
So that is this week’s tip. If you like this and you’d like to do more and learn more, please join our no-cost Challenge at www.YourPRChallenge.com. It’s 10 days. It takes about 10 minutes a day and it will help you really position yourself as an expert and start pitching the media. So I will see you there and then I’ll also see you in the media.
